What to do in Manchester this Mother’s Day Weekend

Mother’s Day Weekend

Markets, Markets and treat your Mum!

So this little day always creeps up on us doesn’t it! I always seem to miss out on seeing my Mum as my slightly more organised brother books her a table somewhere she can’t refuse. Well not this year. I have booked us all a table at Artisan Restaurant in Spinningfields Manchester, where they hold their monthly MarketFest that just so happens to fall on Mother’s Day. It is a great afternoon out where from 12-5pm there is a small selection of stalls for you to browse in-between courses. There are also activities for the little kiddies too (and big kids if you so wish). Cupcake decorating and glitter face painting it should keep them amused for a while. The atmosphere is always great in this restaurant and the live music has a chilled vibe which is fab when dining out with the family.

What else to do this Mother’s Day weekend? We also have some lovely markets to let you know about. On Saturday 25th you could visit Chorlton Green Market which is set outside the Horse & Jockey Pub in Chorlton. A lovely mix of craft & food stalls and once you have finished looking around you can have a seat in the bar/restaurant and treat yourself to a pre-Mother’s Day drink or meal.  There is also the Lowry Outlet Makers Market on from 11am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.  The Manchester Cathedral is playing host to a craft market too on the Saturday; filled end to end with lots of stall holders.

West Didsbury Makers Market is always a treat and is on Mother’s Day itself. Set on the car park of Withington Hospital it comes alive with over 100 stalls. You are sure to find something quirky and definitely some very delicious food too. Crepe chateau is always a winner amongst my family. Then there is Aston Farmers’ & Craft Market in Ashton-under-Lyne, 9am-2pm, so get up nice an early to enjoy the sunshine. If you are happy to travel, why not try Macclesfield’s Treacle Market too. One of the largest markets in the area with over 150 varied stalls. It is a delight to both the eyes and the senses.

If you would like some gifts, we have our Mother’s Day gift set. You order the box and specify where you would like to collect it but if it isn’t ordered it won’t be at the market so don’t miss out. Click the link to take a look.

Some special items also available in the shop on a click and collect basis too is the fab Colette Evans Ceramics Mother’s Day mugs and jug, Shrubbies ‘MUM’ Succulent Set & Ruby Tynan’s Jewellery set. These suit a range of budgets and by ordering online ensure’s that you get exactly what you want! Some of these items can also be custom made to order with names or preferred colours too.
