what to do this weekend
getting out and about in this Great British weather
It’s Bank holiday weekend (27th-29thMay) and it’s sunny, at least for today! But this never stops us getting out and about in this Great British weather. At MyArtisanMarkets, we share the specialist market events on around the North West. Head over to our home page and use the interactive map to search what’s on. In addition to this we also support local designer/makers- if you have visited a market and want to reconnect with a stall holder, take a look. Click onto the market page where you met them and scroll through the stalls. If you don’t find them there you can always view all stalls.
Our Featured market this weekend is Sandon Hall Spring Fair in Staffordshire. Other suggestions for markets visits this weekend.
On Saturday there is the usual Levenshulme Market, a little gem tucked inside the train Station Car Park in Levy or try Chorlton Green Market which is on the road outside The Horse and Jockey pub conveniently placed for a drink following a shop. In Newcastle-under-Lyme there is the new monthly Artisan Market lining the Iron Market.
On Sunday the Ashton Farmers’ & Craft Market is on 9-2pm and on the cusp of Greater Manchester heading out to the Peak District is Hayfield Handmade. Nearer to Manchester, in the car park of Withington Hospital, is the West Didsbury Makers Market too. If you want something nearer to Preston there is the Cuerden Valley Market which offers the free roam of their gardens too. Chesterfield Artisan Market & Treacle Market are worth a visit too.
Both days of the weekend: It is the ‘Dig for Victory’ weekend at Rawtenstall with the Clog Market, lots of vintage stalls, food and fun to be had in Lancashire. Altrincham Market is always a fab market, famous for its re-vamped market hall is also just a stones throw away from Manchester and super quality. The food hall is also something special. If you are off to the Lowry for a theatre trip, get there early as there is the Lowry Outlet Makers Market and it is also there on Monday too!
Bank Holiday Monday is an Oulton Park kind of day! It is their family fun day, meaning there is something for the whole family and there is a market too. Visit Oulton Park Artisan Market.
Most of the markets have live music, freshly prepared street food and a great bunch of stall holders that would love to see you this weekend!
